![]() ![]() I will experiment to confirm it and then I'll file a bug report in Radar. ![]() Yet those pattern colors are fully documented in the Cocoa developer documentation, and not only should Apple apps support them, at the very least they should not break down when the user tries to use one.Īt this point this is only an hypothesis. Here Pages exhibits a very nasty behavior in that case. But they don't fail to operate otherwise. They usually replace them with plain black. Pattern colors are very rarely used in Mac OS X, many applications can't display them correctly. I think the colors that trigger that bug are the colors with a pattern. So I stand by my estimate that it's likely a bug: some kinds of colors break the saving code in Pages. Nonetheless, even if one of those case had happened to be true, I would still contend there is a bug: the error message should not only report but also diagnose the errorīut this is moot as this is not the case. I also checked all the relevant permissions. Well, I guess I should have been more thorough: *of course* I have tried to save under a different name, in a different location… I also tried to save there with other apps. I am not sure which and how to fix it, but that's a start. So the problem since related to some color change. It reports the following error:ĥ/19/10 17:01:40 Pages Exception raised while writing file (Asked to archive color NSPatternColorSpace but have no idea how.)ĥ/19/10 17:01:40 Pages Write failed with no errors reported. So I'd rather not just Export the document as that would mean losing the meta data.Īs a side note, this kind of bug goes a long way towards mining the trust in an application. Since I have changed the styles, I would hate to lose my changes. Then I change some fonts to explore which font I may use. ![]() Then I copy pasted two images and five text boxes from another Pages document (which can save, thank you very much). Then I modified the header/footer style to remove its blue color. The document was created from the standard "Lesson Plan" template. Is there anything I can do, rather than loose my work? The document “modele F.pages” could not be saved as “test.pages”. ![]()
